Mindful Rest (Day 418)

I really don't have a good excuse at why I haven't written. I'm actually not as busy as I normally am.. at least with work. Now I'm just getting to catch up on all of the things I didn't get to do during swim season. My blessing for today, and really this week, is and has been stillness. I've had more time to just be still in the past week than I've had since I moved here.

Now, I haven't really been all that still. Instead of working, I've been cleaning, organizing, socializing, cooking, shopping a bit, but there is still a stillness in my mind that I get from doing those things. They are solely things for me. A friend told me today that she has seen a dramatic change in me over the past week. I can tell you for a fact it is because I've gotten me time. Now, I know you might think, "didn't you just have spring break?" Yes, you are correct, but that time wasn't just for me. It wasn't spent in Tulsa doing what needed to be done. Vacations are wonderful, but there's still a difference in escaping to a different city and letting your mind escape while staying in one place. I needed the latter and I'm so thankful I got it. There isn't really much more to say about it. I got the rest my mind, body, and soul had been searching for for quite some time and in the end a tired heart was able to heal.
