Humble Pie (Day 245)

Once again, another job. This time coaching in Tulsa. I've known about this one for awhile since I was supposed to have a phone interview with the coach on Thursday. Then that had to get rescheduled to today, and then because of the terrible cell service in my building, I missed that call. Fortunately, I made a good enough impression with my resume that he was more than willing to reschedule once again and wasn't upset. And this time I actually get to have the interview in person. I'm heading up to Tulsa Wednesday and hope to be there until Sunday!

I'm so thankful for jobs to come pouring in like this and I love coaching. It's just my pride is getting in the way. I'm a college graduate. I've completed 149 hours of course work to get this degree. I have awards in design. And I feel like I deserve more than a part time job. I can't live off of this job which means I'll have to get two. The coaching job would start at three and not end until seven which means I won't have normal hours.

I need to stop thinking about what I "deserve" and start thinking about what I've been given. Where do I want to end up? In Tulsa. This is an opportunity. It's also a job I've always loved doing, but now that I'm a graduate I feel like I should have more. I want to have what my friends in Tulsa have, careers. With only two part time jobs I feel like I have less worth. Part time jobs don't equal careers. I know this is Satan. He's feeding on my pride and my desire to always be better and to work hard. It's upsetting me that he's getting to me. I need prayers. I can still work hard and this can still turn into a career. I just need to get over myself. I don't deserve anymore than the next person with a college degree. Heck, I don't deserve more than a person without one. All of this will work out the way it's supposed to. I just need to trust and to pray for some humble pie. Thank you for advance if you decide to pray. I greatly appreciate it.

"A little rain won't keep people away from the Lord."
A quote from the book I'm reading right now. Thought it was fitting.
