Well, today is definitely a weird one. I was leaving work, about to head to a senior seminar meeting. I crossed the street on my bike to get up onto the sidewalk. All of the sudden this girl I was about to pass decides she's going to switch to the other side of the sidewalk. I tried to dodge her but instead found myself knocking into her, running into a bush, and flying over my handlebars into more concrete. A think I saw my life flash before my eyes. I just knew I was either going to break something, be bleeding, or have a concussion. Somehow my hands hit the pavement and I didn't crack my wrists, my knee hit also and I wasn't bleeding, and my head stayed safely in the air. I can now say I've flown.
I was being literal when I wrote this title because I literally only have a scratch; and that's from the peddle somehow scraping down my shin as I left my bike. Ok, I also have a bruise from where the seat came up and nailed me in the back, but really it could of been a lot worse. I bet the girl I hit was hurt more than me. I didn't really stop and talk. I was confused, angry, scared, and very flustered all at the same time. I thought it would be best if I just didn't say anything to her because I wasn't sure what would come out of my mouth.
So weirdly enough I'm calling this a blessing. Yes, my lower back is quite sore, and yes my shin still stings a bit, but I really could of been hurt. I have no time to be hurt so like it or not this is my blessing.
