Friday: Today really was a terrible day. I missed a test and couldn't reschedule it so I received a zero, I couldn't get my schedule my class for this summer because of holds, test score errors, and pre-recs, and there was a bit of drama with some people. I was almost to tears until I went to practice and the party Danielle and I threw for the kids was amazing. They loved the food and then they really loved when Danielle and I surprised them by jumping in and swimming with them. After my eyes were red from being splashed for an hour but my heart felt much lighter and at peace.
Saturday: My last swim meet was today and my parents got to come. And what a swim meet it was. Most of my swimmers dropped time. Then after I got to spend some quality time with my parents. Since we were already up in Heber I took them to the cliffs, to the dam, and then to the hatchery. It was just like old times in Colorado or Roaring River which are always my favorite vacations.
Sunday: My show!! All I can say is that. Well, and the fact that it went extremely well with a great turn out and many compliments from our teachers. Nothing makes the nine of us feel better than to hear that they hadn't seen a show like this in years. Also, I got to see my aunt and cousins from Memphis who I haven't been able to see because of my busy semester. I love my little three and five year old cousins! Best part was little William (the three year old) running into my arms to give me a hug and snuggling his nose into my shoulder! I'm thankful for my team and the friends who supported me through this endeavor.
Monday: I heard something today I never knew. My first word was clock. Ok so I knew that part, but I didn't know why it was. Most kids say mamma or dada, but I said clock. Whenever I saw a clock the word came out on repeat. I'm not sure why the subject got brought up but my dad told me my grandpa used to lift me up and wind the clock sitting on the mantel. He would point to it and say clock over and over. Guess that's where I got it. See, my grandfather past away when I was a sophomore in high school, and since he was the grandparent I looked up to the most it was a special memory in my book.
We women need to hear this.
